AURORA’s crew take STCW95 sea survival course
Even if Borea Adventures’ trips are to quite remote destinations we want to make sure our guests enjoy fun and safe holidays. We run our yacht according to the world’s strictest safety standards. Same goes for crew training and all last week AURORA’s crew was in Reykjavik for a five day sea survival and fire fighting course. This course is part of the official requirements for Icelandic seamen and is according to the international STCW95 standard.
We went through all aspects of basic sea survival such as: first aid, fire fighting, lifeboats, helicopter rescue etc. Most of the course was run onboard the Maritime Safety and Survival training centre SS Sæbjörg (former ro-ro ferry Akraborg).
This was quite educational for us… but also lot´s of fun and we are sure that we will be in an even better position to serve our guests in the coming summer season.
