Spinnaker flying to the Azores

Siggi is part of a crew sailing from Isle of Wight – Vigo Spain – Azores – Lisbon, working for the UK Sailing Association. They have been making good progress with the ten students, doing 10-14 knots on average in strong winds, sometimes too strong. The day before arriving in Punta Delgada in the Azores, they tore the mainsail with three reefs in! So the last 90 miles were done with a trisail and a storm staysail. They have left the Azores and are enroute to Cascais close to Lisbon in Portugal. They estimate to be there at the end of the week. The crew has sailed over 2000 miles so far with about 850 to go before stepping foot on land again.
