Surfing in Greenland

I´m not sure, but I think the photo here is the first kind of surfing done in Greenland since the end of the ice age. Waves are not very common in Greenland due to Icebergs that brake all the waves coming from and also because that there is no shallow waters around the coastline to make the waves rise and finally break.

Sólveig Pétursdóttir didn´t let the icebergs stop her from trying out wakeboarding on a trip last September to the East coast. Is this a Guinnes record? I dont know. This was a group of hardy Icelanders that wanted to make a crossing late in the season. Usually when August is finished, it´s like someone pulls the plug and lows are constantly cruising up between Iceland and East Greenland. They didn´t care but this situation made the trip a bit longer than expected since the group had to wait for the opportunity to get across to Iceland at the end of the trip.
